About Me

Dr. Mike Denn

I received a PsyD in clinical psychology from Trinity College of Graduate Studies in 2004. My experience includes working in a range of experiences from working in a state mental hospital to spending 3 years as a school psychologist in a Catholic high school. I also interned in a counseling clinic and am now in private practice. I have also lead recovery and marriage recovery support groups in a church setting. My time working in a high school setting has provided an understanding of adolescents and how to help them deal with their transition into adulthood and a variety of related problems. I work with adolescents, individuals and couples.

Helping Adolescents

A child's job is to grow up and leave home but they sometime see their parents' requests as controlling. So, they resist and act out or show other signs. But, they can be helped to get back on track. Working with parents and their child can produce lasting change.

Working with Couples

One of the main problems with couples I have seen is one person putting their "shoulds" on the other person" and then not being happy and punishing them when the other person doesn't live up to their "shoulds".
